Recycling

• Western Overseas Incorporated (Western) was established in 1990 to specialize in the purchase and onward sale of demolition tonnage and as such is one of the oldest cash buyers engaged in ship recycling.

  Our prime objective is to provide a highly professional and reliable service to our clients with the aim of developing long term business relationships. As a result, we have been able to transact repeat business with major ship owners worldwide and with major recyclers in India and Bangladesh. We have a dedicated team of professionals in both India and Bangladesh who handle all aspects of the sale and delivery. Whilst not our primary focus, we have delivered vessels to Pakistan and China.

  With our worldwide contacts, Western can buy any vessels from 1,000 LDT to 70,000 LDT on a 'delivered' basis or on an 'as is' basis, which could be either under own power or under tow.

Green Recycling

• Western has been aware of the need to meet our clients' environmental concerns for many years now and working in collaboration with our partners at "Green" yards in India, we are able to comply with all IMO requirements for recycling vessels in an environmentally responsible manner.

Performance

• Western buys 20-30 vessels annually and has purchased over 500 vessels in the last 20 years in all major recycling markets.

  • Excess 200 tankers
  • Excess 200 dry vessels
